Beyond the Music

Beginning with the Oscar short-listed documentary "Wallowitch and Ross: This Moment", Karmic Release has had an abiding interest in the secret workings of what it takes to make a great bit of music. Working with a series of musicians on the cusp of success, our projects behind the scenes document the focused determination it takes to both make your work, and find your audience, in an era of six second social media sensations.

This short doc following a day in the life of blind New Yorker Lucia Marett, was conceived and designed as the music video for neo-pop artist Anne Tello's rendition of Christina Aguilera's "Beautiful."

In Manhattan's Phantom Studios with 2014 "Got to Dance" winner Jak Tuite-Leach. This acoustic reimagining of Rae Sremmurd's "No Type" was arranged for his debut EP.

Go behind the scenes of English trap/pop artist Sydney Jo Jackson's "Blah" music video. Filmed on location at "The Art Factory".

Live and in studio with dance pop artist Laney Lynx in Brooklyn's Bunker Studios.

This live "field recording" with our house band, folk rock duo The Cumberland Kids, was shot on a summer afternoon on the edge of a Pennsylvania glade.

The Cumberland Kids get a little political with this fireside protest song.

Live in the West Village with New Age songstress Anne Tello.
